Brussels sprouts are a Christmas dinner staple, but they do have somewhat of a bad reputation. Bring out the best in these little guys with this easy beer recipe and make them the star of the show this year!
YOU WILL NEED:
2 Pounds of Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved
1 shallot, finely sliced
12 ounces of Witbier or IPA
Salt and pepper to taste
6 ounces of thick cut bacon (optional)
Use a large pan over medium heat, if using bacon add to the pan and sauté until crisp. Add the sliced shallot and sauté for 2-3 minutes. Add the sprouts, stir and sear the sides (5mins). Add your chosen beer to the pan and simmer until the beer has reduced to a glaze and the sprouts are cooked through.
